Hey There👋
Looking to donate your gently used household items to a good cause? Check out what we can and can't accept here at Wings Homeless Advocacy.
What we CAN accept
We're so grateful you thought of us when looking for somewhere to donate your gently used items! Sadly, we can't accept everything, and you can help our mission by only trying to donate what we can accept from this list:
-
New, unused bedding (twins + queens) and pillows
-
Gently used small, practical furniture (ex: nightstands)
-
Gently used or like new silverware sets
-
Gently used or like new kitchen utensils
-
New and unused mattresses on a case by case basis (twins + queens), preference for the "bed in a box" roll up style of mattress
-
Contact us with specifics if you're unsure. Remember, we do our best to take items, but we can't take everything. Thank you for understanding ❣️
If you are an organization looking to donate bulk items, please contact us. This list is only for individuals donating from a household.
What we CANNOT accept
The health, safety, and dignity of our clients and volunteers comes first for us. We strive to give our clients the best items we can to start their new chapter after homelessness, so we try for new, like new, or gently used items. Some items we cannot accept due to safety concerns. Thank you for your understanding. Here's some common items we cannot accept, though this is not an exhaustive list:
-
Any items that show signs of wear (we want to give people a fresh start)
-
Used mattresses (we don't have the resources to refurbish)
-
Used bedding
-
Appliances
-
Large furniture
-
Food
-
Hygiene products (unless they are new and unopened from our Wishlist)
-
Kid's items
-
Clothes
