About Wings
We are a group of caring advocates from our community who are dedicated to supporting individuals in their walk out of homelessness. Working exclusively with professional case managers, we connect a volunteer with a homeless participant to help them obtain resources needed to become housed and self-sufficient. But more importantly, we provide compassion and respect that instills confidence and ultimately shows participants that they can, indeed, succeed on their own.

What we do
Working with community professionals from over a dozen local agencies, Wings acts as advocates to some of the most vulnerable, chronically homeless individuals in our community.

Our volunteers provide rides to medical and court appointments, find furniture and provide trucks and strong backs for new move-ins and help people fill out the confusing paperwork needed to get housing assistance.  We also provide newly housed individuals and families with a new, refurbished mattress and a laundry basket filled with new, basic household supplies to get them started enjoying their newfound sense of belonging.

Wings supports the national Housing First model proven to save lives and public resources.  We work with the community to support efforts for permanent, supportive housing for all of our homeless neighbors. Our volunteers have found the best way to advocate for a homeless participant is as simple as showing up and caring.  One volunteer’s encouragement can make all the difference in helping a chronically homeless person make a 180 degree change in their life.
